October's Latest News
Amiante have been included in the latest group of successful companies to be admitted to a leading edge scheme, designed to help industry improve its safety record. The company has received accreditation from SAFEcontractor, a national programme which recognises very high standards of health and safety practice amongst UK contractors.
In line with the SAFEcontractor system, Amiante had to undergo a vetting process, which examined health and safety procedures and their track record for safe practice. The company’s application for SAFEcontractor recognition was driven by the need for a uniform standard across the industry.
SAFEcontractor is operated by international safety, health and environmental risk management specialists, the National Britannia Group.
National Britannia say "Organisations can no longer run the risk of employing contractors who are not able to prove that they have sound health and safety policies, and more companies need to understand the importance of adopting good risk management in the way that Amiante have done.“The firm's high standard has set an example, which hopefully will be followed by other companies in the sector."
Managing Director, Ralph Alvino said: “Amiante is wholly committed to health and safety and we fully support the implementation of uniform standards. “Health and safety must be taken seriously and accreditation is the only way that a business can prove its credentials.”
